Da wundern wir uns gerade erst vor zwei Tagen, dass die doch sonst immer so unkonventionelle Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), die für ihren spielerischen Architekturansatz bekannt ist, nicht als Fürsprecher für das LEGO Architecture Studio auftreten und müssen nun feststellen, dass wir nicht weit genug recherchiert haben. Denn BIG baut auch mit LEGO, bzw. für LEGO, nämlich das LEGO-Museum in Billund in Dänemark (wo sonst?). Baubeginn soll im Frühjahr 2014 sein, Fertigstellung in 2016.
It is one of our great dreams at BIG that we are now able to design a building for and with the LEGO Group. I owe a huge personal debt to the LEGO brick, and I can see in my nephews that its role in developing the child as a creative, thinking, imaginative human being becomes ever stronger in a world in which creativity and innovation are key elements in virtually all aspects of society.
