In Good Old Europe ist die Erkenntnis, dass der öffentliche Personennahverkehr (ÖPNV) mehr Vor- als Nachteile hat, wohl so ziemlich jedem bekannt. In den USA hat er dagegen weiterhin Akzeptanzprobleme. Da kann vielleicht das Schönheits- und Gesundheitsargument eine Lanze brechen?! Eine Studie, die vom Verband der amerikanischen Verkehrsunternehmen beauftragt wurde kommt nun zum Ergebnis, dass die Nutzung des ÖPNV schlank macht. “Use of public transit simply means that you walk more which increases fitness levels and leads to healthier citizens.
